Short bio and interests

I am an Applied and Data Scientist at Microsoft(*), working on Machine Learning and Data Science projects. I was in a similar role at Philips Research before for more than 3 years. I am mostly focused on company relevant user stories and when time permits, I like doing fundamental research. Previously, I also spent some time as a postdoctoral researcher at the University of Amsterdam (UvA) and at Delft University of Technology.

I obtained my PhD (with cum laude honors, given to 5% graduates) from Delft University of Technology in 2014 and I was supervised by professor Dr. Piet Van Mieghem. My research focuses have been optimization algorithms, network science, complex networks, game theory, applied graph theory, and machine learning. I graduated from the MSc. program in Advanced Computer Science from the University of Cambridge, with distinction (Cambridge PhD condition) in July 2011. I was also the first Macedonian with a computer science degree from Cambridge at any level. I received my Diploma Eng. Degree (5 years undergraduate program) in Computer Science and Control Systems and my second master in Software Engineering as a summa cum laude student with the best GPA. Even before, I successfully participated at the International Mathematical Olympiad (IMO), winning a bronze medal. I am a Dutch (EU) citizen and I was born and raised in Macedonia.
